Putting a nondescript overhead aerial shot in your listing does nothing for potential buyers. Property lines should always be marked or shaded in an overhead image. The photograph should also focus on the listed property, not the properties around it.
Aerial photographs take a lot more planning than just sending up a drone and snapping a few pictures. Which house in this photograph is the actual house in the listing? Shots must be carefully planned so the focus is on the subject property...not the neighbors house and backyard!
What could have been a beautiful picture with fall foliage is ruined because of muted lighting from the sun. Onsite closely watches the weather and selects the time of day that's best for getting great shots for your listing! In fact, we also book two separate days just in case the weather is bad on the first
While GIS and mapping/nav websites are good for a lot of things, they don't work well for listings photos. These 2D shots leave a lot to be desired! Using up-to-date aerial images from multiple perspectives is always better!
"Its a pretty picture, but...what am I buying? What is for sale in this picture?" If approximate boundaries are not marked, potential buyers don't know what they are looking at. Marking the lot lines, showing the lot number and acreage, nearby streets and more is important information for a buyer!
Have you ever seen a listing for a house and there are no aerial shots? How about a listing for land and there are 30 ground level shots of nothing but tress? Not using aerial photographs limits the information potential buyers want and need! With Onsite, there is never an excuse not to use aerial photographs in your listings!
